According to the latest Chinese 5 year plan, China’s total LNG receiving capacity is expected to reach 87 million metric tonnes per annum ( mmtpa ) by 2020. Of this total capacity, more than 80% is either operational, under construction or approved as of end November 2011. Meanwhile, the demand for the China domestic market will double, and China will become one of the largest LNG importers in the world. However, with so many new LNG plants/ terminals/ pipelines/power plants on the way, there are a lot of technical issues to tackle. This event will provide solutions to many of difficulties along the whole LNG supply chain.
